ABLE DANGER (2008) |
|
“NOIR ON ACID. A paranoid fantasy of geek superheroics. Like-minded theorists may ascend from their basements to rally.” New York Times
“Able Danger” deftly mixes 1940s detective yarn with 1970s conspiracy thriller, creating a new genre: the post-9/11 noir. It’s a clever twist, but it’s also a clever movie, crisply layered with all the right mystery elements. More than just a self-referential lark, “Able Danger” tells a smart, inventive story.” eFilmCritic.com
“An intriguing tale of conspiracy, the film adds a new twist to an old formula by wedding the 9/11 truth movement to classic film noir.” VILLAGE VOICE
“Able Danger is a smart and all-too-conceivable conspiracy thriller that raises serious questions in less-than-serious ways. Do we really think we know the entire truth behind 9/11? If so, the movie shows a bridge it might want to sell you.” THE FILM JOURNAL
“A cinematic X-ray of the paranoid mind-set. “ Film Comment
“Krik uses flashes of dark comedy, an affection for the film noir genre and the perfect eyebrow-half cocked attitude towards his subject matte to create a fast-paced and entertaining story.” FILMMAKER MAGAZINE |

A conspiracy noir thriller about 9/11, ABLE DANGER is the story of Thomas Flynn, a Brooklyn 9/11 truther (played by Adam Nee), who falls into a noir pastiche when a mysterious Eastern European beauty (played by Elina Lowensohn) arrives at his bookstore café with the irrefutable proof of American secret intelligence involvement in the planning and execution of 9/11. When Thomas is implicated in the murder of his friend and employee, he’s forced to unravel her complex web of lies while attempting to fight his natural attraction to her. As it turns out, she possesses the Able Danger hard-drive, the smoking gun that proves the identities and methods of the real architects of 9/11, and Thomas is willing to risk everything to expose the truth.
